Overview
Release is a clean “free the piece” puzzle where blocks slide along lanes and the goal is to release a target through a corridor you compose rather than discover by luck. The board rewards sequence and relief space: you don’t shove randomly; you clear one path that creates two follow-ups, then move pieces purposefully so staging never collapses. The language is honest—arrows indicate lanes, shadows show occlusion—and the best solves use two-step chains: position a blocker onto a safe square, slide a support aside, then push the target through the corridor you’ve authored. Dead corners are the enemy; treat them as constraints to respect, parking only when a piece can exit later. The cadence becomes plan, stage, slide, release. When a run stalls, it’s because a cosmetic move didn’t improve options. Correction is gentle: back up two moves, reopen the relief lane, and resume deliberate routing. The pleasure lies in watching a cluttered grid convert into a crisp corridor and the target glide out as if the board always intended it.
