Overview
BallSortPuzzle is the teachable cousin of color stacking, designed to make good habits feel obvious. Buffer first: create one empty tube so every move can stage or rescue without clogging. Then extract in pairs—two consecutive lifts of the same color cut churn and prevent back-and-forth shuffles that inflate move counts. Identify an easy stack and finish it early; a completed tube becomes permanent space, and that extra freedom pays back across the whole board. The core loop is simple and satisfying: open space, unmix the worst tube, finish one, and reassess. Rare colors should stay near the top; burying them is how you create locks you’ll hate later. Avoid cosmetic moves—if a lift doesn’t increase freedom, reconsider. The design encourages reading tops like a map: clear contrasts first and delay confusing hues until the scene is tidier. By the time you reach the last few stacks, the puzzle feels as if it’s solving itself because your structure is honest. It’s a calm, method-forward sort that rewards restraint and shows you, one neat column at a time, that order emerges when you give it room.
